These are two posts of mine about stem cells I took off the forum. I have a lot of material I could post from the forum. I should be doing that. One of the reasons I closed the forum, was to have time to work on the website and I asked people to post material suitable for the website.
From February 2007:
Hi everyone, the piece didn't want to copy very well, so I am just placing the link. http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2...ice-teeth.html (see below)
Anyway, some mice got some new teeth. This is but one example, (coming from Japan) about organ healing and replacement using stem cells etc. on the planet. An American lab is currently growing people new cartiledge, not from stem cells but just growing a person's own cartiledge sent to them which can then be placed in joints needing it. Rafael does this for me. I am to get some more before long as he adds it to my joints gradually.
I have a "funny" story. When I started up this project, I got 2 letters from people asking for new teeth from the star folks. What they asked was for the new tooth buds to be delivered right to their houses. I was given names, addresses, phone numbers, and time the folks would be at home. Apparently they thought they could just insert these at home without the aid of a dentist or person skilled in such! And they weren't pleased when I said the folks on the Capricorn weren't going to just knock on their doors and hand over their new teeth! These seemed to be serious letters and not letters from idiots trying to play around. Take care, Candace
OK, here is the piece from the link above about the mice, it is still there and I had no trouble copying it this time.
Lab-grown teeth transplanted in mice
Last Updated: Monday, February 19, 2007 | 12:11 PM ET CBC News
Japanese researchers said Sunday they have replaced natural teeth in mice with those grown in a lab dish from single cells.
The successful transplant opens the door to future transplants of bioengineered organs, according to a study published in the journal Nature Methods authored by a team led by Takashi Tsuji of the Tokyo University of Science.
'The ultimate goal of regenerative therapy is to develop fully functioning bioengineered organs that can replace lost or damaged organs after disease, injury or aging.'—Study authors
The scientists took primitive cells from the tooth germ — the tiny bud that appears before the tooth grows in — and injected them into collagen, the sticky protein that acts as the main connective tissue in animals.
The tooth germ grew into a tooth 1.3 mm long. The researchers then extracted the incisor from an adult mouse and replaced it with the bioengineered tooth. Within two weeks the transplant grew into a fully formed tooth with root, enamel, dental pulp, bone and blood vessel.
Scientists had previously grown teeth from tooth bud cells but had never demonstrated the buds could grow into normal teeth once transplanted into the mouse's jaw.
"The ultimate goal of regenerative therapy," the authors wrote, "is to develop fully functioning bioengineered organs that can replace lost or damaged organs after disease, injury or aging."
Stem cells have the unique ability to develop into different types of cells; embryonic stem cells are widely considered the most versatile.
In human medical research, embryonic stem cells are seen as a powerful tool to fight diseases and replace diseased organs, but the use of embryonic stem cells has been controversial.
The cells taken from the tooth germ — called mesenchymal and epithelial cells — were partially differentiated stem cells. Though not quite as diverse as embryonic stem cells, the two primitive cells have the potential to develop into other organs, the researchers said.
Post from April 2006
Hi all, I saw an amazing broadcast on ABC news tonight. They talked about using stem cells, adult stem cells to create bladders. The person's own cells are harvested from their bladder, and I am sure, they could be harvested elsewhere too, and a new bladder grown around what looks like a balloon. Then implanted.
A young girl was born with a problem bladder, she was on crutches, so I imagine she had other birth problems also. She was incontinent, and she was given a new bladder, grown from her own cells, which has functioned well for some time now.]
Also being covered this week, are stem cells derived from male testicles. These would not be sperm, which contain only 1/2 the DNA. These would be probably cells that are made into sperm by the process of meiosis. They have been changed to manufacture nerve cells and others.
I remind all of you, I have had 3 stem cell transplants. Embryo stem cells would not work because the dna does not match, or if used, the person would have to take anti rejection drugs.
My first stem cell transplant was for a new pituitary. The stem cells were harvested from the inside of my mouth. These were treated in some manner, and then grown for a bit and placed inside my brain where my failed pituitary had been. This was done by AA Rafael. He told me he did not actually create a new pituitary, that just placing a large cluster of cells into the area, worked fine, as these cells then picked up from surrounding tissues what they should become. And so it is, I am off both my thyroid replacement (2 years now) and recently, my steroid replacement. (noted added today. I had a repeat of that procedure last summer 2007, awake this time by Rafael, I needed some more cells, I was not producing quite enough ACTH.The procedure was performed in my bedroom.)
The pituitary makes ACTH and some other stuff that stimulates the adrenal glands. I made no natural ACTH following the failure of my gland, or TSH which stimulates the thyroid gland. My thyroid recovered once I produced TSH and is now normal.
My adrenals only partially recovered. They had been depressed for 12 years before my transplant. My pituitary failed me in 1991, and I had the above stem cell procedure in 2003. So I have had two more stem cell transplants, to my adrenals this time, one a year ago this month, and the other last September. These cells were obtained from my belly fat (of which I have plenty), and cultured, and then injected into my adrenal glands, by the method of laparoscopy. All these procedures were done aboard ship. Belly fat has a lot of stem cells I am told, the most of any tissue in the body. (I also had another one last summer of 2007, because I was hit by a beam weapon when shopping and it got one of the adrenal glands.)
It is our own stem cells, that are responsible for healing, in the first place. At any rate, as I reported elsewhere, during my recent episode with basically the much feared "bird flu", I was able to make all my own cortisone and related hormones, requiring no supplements, even during the period of my fever. So I assume I am done with using hydrocortisone, and no longer subject to the symptoms of not enough, or too much if I over estimate or underestimate what I need.
Nice to be off these pills, and not have to carry extra on me for emergencies and having to fight and argue with hospital staff and doctors over my needs in this arena. And the good thing, is that I am now making the several hormones involved. When one is on replacement therapy, only cortisone or hydrocortisone is replaced. My doctors initially put me on prednisone back then, and after I did some reading, I asked to take hydrocortisone, which is the natural substance. Prednison is artificial, and is used in inflammation because as an inflammatory, it is 5X more potent than hydrocortisone, and that is not a good deal, in replacement therapy. The use of prednisone probably caused the excess atrophy of my adrenals. (I am not completely off them. I do sometimes, not often, need a little extra if I have done too much, but not often.)
Sananda answered a question through me last spring, when he was answering some of the email, from a family who had a child born with most of one arm missing. Sananda informed them nicely, that this would be a karmic condition, the child probably having caused another in a past life to live without an arm. He did suggest to them, that once the karma was resolved, that the missing arm could be grown by the child with assistence using stem cells, and other methods to encourage the replacement of the arm.
Speaking of that much feared bird flu, it is amongst us all now for some time. It is currently a common flu bug out there, and for most an annoying inconvience, once of those nasty flu bugs that tends to produce a cough for a couple weeks or more. (I still am coughing a bit) It will not be successful for our BBB&G's to suddenly release it, most of you have had it and are now immune, or will be. The virus has several varieties, but one confrontration with any of them, will produce immunity to them all. The BBB&G's know this, but use it as a weapon against countries, causing them to kill of their birds, and harm economies. I caught my bird flu from my kitty, who caught it from other kitties, while she was in kitty jail recently.
It was covered on TV recently, that cage free organic poultry farmers were ordered in France to keep their fowl in barns, so they didn't become infected by "wild birds" and apparently most of these farmers are following the rules, otherwise I assume they would face slaughter of their birds. One more way the USA is attacking France at this time. One farmer was greatly saddened by not seeing his birds out frolicking in the sun each day, and having to be in a crowded barn. I suggest this will cause more illness in the birds, than anything they might catch from "wild birds." Take care, Candace
