Candace: Both our state and Federal incorporated governments (city and counties too I bet) are heavily invested in stock, from which a great deal of their income comes from, more than income tax raises, much more. I am assuming some of the stock market flucations are around acquisition of more and more companies of all sorts. Force the price down, and then buy are firesale prices. Who are they after with the tomatoes lately, by the way? The salmonella does not grow inside a healthy tomato with unblemished skin. Wash the things! The Federal Government apparently gets up to 2/3 of its income from investments. So just what is it doing with all the money?
