What are these new creatures, the super delegates? Neither myself nor anyone around me ever heard of them before, and it's all over CNN with different ones vowing to support various contenders no matter what, or switching from one to another. I don't even understand the delegate system anyway, and I posted some commentary to another piece on it once on the front site.

I went to a meeting to get delegates for Ron Paul, and never undersood what it meant. And I don't think the people tryng to become delegates did either. In Colorado there are more democratic delegates than republican ones.(but we are supposedly a Red STATE, but 1/3 of the registered voters are independents.) I was told, had I been a registered Republican (I am independent), that I should get 10 people to come vote for me during Super Tuesday, to be a delegate for Ron Paul. Ron Paul has quite a few republican supporters in Colorado, thousands, and yet Ron Paul did not get one delegate? And he got 8% of the straw vote!!!!!

I am sure many of the people wanting to be delegates for Ron Paul could find 10 people to vote for them. And then that's not the permanent number, the local delegate has to go against others in the County and State, before the final delegates to the Conventions are chosen, and, and, and...........and this has NOTHING to do with the electoral college.

So apparently these "super delegates" can overwrite or overturn the regular delegates, and not even the regular delegates are finally chosen . I don't think Adams' county, my county has selected theirs from the pool of "district" delegates. What a fucking, excuse me, mess. Do any of you readers understand how this works, and when the super delegate idea became "reality"? They just add game after game after game to place their chosen ones in place, in case the straw votes, (of caucus states like Colorado) and formal votes of the primaries in other states, don't create the desired result? 

What is hell is going on please? So if the final delegates are not chosen for the state, why is there counting of delegates at all at this point? And they are saying the nominees will BE DECIDED before the conventions, so why do we even have a convention? Such incredible crap. Am I the only one confused? or the only one to even ask what is going on?

So we go through all this, and then the candidates desired are chosen before the convention, by super delegates. And then if that isn't enough during the major election to get the desired results, there are all sorts of manipulations to effect the desired result. Where are Americans on this!!!!!!!! What shit. And then if all else fails of course the electoral votes, wrongly ascribed to the states by winner takes all in most states, decide the race. And like in Florida in 2000, that still wasn't enough, so the Supreme Court did it. Amazing and where are American's in this. Off buying stuff, working, playing and all agreeing we have a fine free country with a free vote!!!!!! Sorry, I am having a "bitch" day.

I attempted to get into politics many many years ago, and saw then what it was, and realized I would never have power then, because they don't support people like me in the first place, I can't be bought and paid for.  Take care, Candace

PS, I tried going to CNN once, who claimed to have every thing you needed to know about the delegate system, and it was 3 sentences long and said nothing.  Anybody help me out? I never really understood the game at all, since I chose to be independent, which is the only choice to make, thanks to Lou Dobbs for encouraged people to become independants.

You know, a problem with electronic ballots, is where do you place a write in? They haven't used these in my district yet, we, last election were still on punch cards, and there was a place for a write in. Of course, when machined, these had to be separated out, to see who the write in's went to.

In the olden days, we had no parties, They weren't really created in the Constitution. In the olden days, the person who got second place in the Presidential elections, was vice-president. And I highly reject this idea of the candidate choosing his running mate, because after all, of the candidates gets "deaded" by the dark, we are then stuck with an unelected person running the country. I am sorry, but the joint ticket is not a method of a republic.

Democracy is NOT freedom, it is rule by manipulated masses who are not intelligent enough to vote in the first place. It starts at the top and works down. In a republic, the local people choose representatives to the office of president, from people who have served them in the past locally etc.  There is none of this top down hype. Local people might for example choose previous successful Senators, governnors, or Representatives to the race. That would cause a lot of weeding nation wide, but it might produce a person of Christ Consciousness for the office. What the shit do delegates do??????? Other than fight other delegates for the final slot. And that isn't even covered in the news. I didn't get to meet any delegates, who are these people that supposedly decide who is the final selection to run for either party? There aren't any "independent" delegates that I know of, or I would be one, perhaps?

Ok, Huckabee is going to have to back out, and so now, where do his delegates go? to whomever he chooses. And these delegates I assume aren't supposed to change their minds. Ditto Mitt Romney when he pulled out, and I am still wondering about that game, because I don't think McCain will last, even if he wins. His health is really poor and he is pretty stupid and needs constant renewal of his health to stay standing up.  Messy, messy, messy.

And Huckabee is playing the I am the pro-life president and anti gay marriage president. Excuse me, but gays can partner with whom they wish, as can all others. And if we got off money, no body would be marrying to get insurance and tax benefits, they would be marrying, hopefully out of true love. And regards abortion, sorry, but God said, thou shalt not kill another human being except in genuine self defense. The little embryo, what did it do to attack the mother, that she needs to kill it in self defense? Life is sacred, period.

And these pro life dudes in office, the folks have killed, about 1 1/2 million in Iraq now and apparently several million in Afghanistan, this is "pro life."  Where is Christian America, who likes to go around stating they are the "body of Christ" in action, WHAT ACTION. MY GOD people, we have been in Iraq 5 years this month, starting #6, and its been 6 1/2 years since 911. Why can't people LOOK, at 911????? Even intelligent ones?  Where in God's name has this world gone too? Straight off to Satan would be my guess. By THEIR fruits the Bible says, and by their fruits this system stinks.

OK, I'm done bitching for the time being. I should have kept my TV off today. On top of that I watched a wonderful show on PBS last night about the great wonderful Pete Seeger, who is still at work plying his craft. What happened to those grand years of protest??????? Where did they go????? It's not just that people are afraid. It's different from that.

Guess I wasn't done, was I? I went once to something to support Cindy Sheehan a couple falls ago now, in 2005. The leader of the protest is gone, and when I tried once to contact him, he wrote back a nasty letter, and it was as I suppected that night, he was a plant to get names.  OK, I'm done now, the phone is ringing!  Take care, Candace
