Mr. President,
On behalf of His Excellency Dr. R. C. Dam, International Treasury Controller, Chairman of the Office of International Treasury Control, and all its Officers and Staff, we express to your good self, the Sovereign Nation of Chile, the 33 Miners, their Families, the Rescue Workers, the support staff, the Medical Staff, and all others involved with the “Rescue Operation” our heartiest congratulations and highest respects to you all.
Chile, is one of the Nations of the World whose presence on the World Stage has been virtually non-existent. It is a Nation that is little heard of where only three instances of international recognition come to mind. The unfortunate and destructive forces of the “Pinochet” era, which although not forgotten are probably better not spoken too much about as this would possibly resurrect the fear and anxiety of that era. The “Earthquake” earlier this year which caused immeasurable damage but with the fortunate limited loss of life in comparison to other countries that have suffered from similar natural disasters, and now finally the “Mining Disaster” which has now reached a highly successful conclusion, a credit deserving of the utmost respect to all those involved.
Today, 14th October 2010, Chile stands at the “Pinnacle” of the world having shown to the world what Cooperation, Unity, Faith, the Discarding of Social Disparities, Determination of a Nation, and Professionalism, can achieve.
Today, the other Nations of the World should have learnt an awful amount of lessons from the recent experience of Chile and its People, a learning that if maintained, can be the nucleus or catalyst, for a change within and towards the destructive, selfish, segregation, and acrimonious promulgations that are usually seen within our World.
Chile has set the finest example possible for the entire World to follow. Let us Hope and Pray that the World learns from all of your Nation’s experiences and remains conscious of the examples that Chile has now shown and has indeed now set as a standard for all others to follow.
Our heartiest Congratulations and Highest Respects to your all. An unbelievable and admirable achievement which the aforementioned stated attributes have brought about.
Finally, we look forward to continuing our discussions to further develop and expand the Chilean economy, at your convenience in the future, and in accordance with your own schedules.
