Post Stasis physical hardships

G'day,
An Australian member of the AH Support forum recently asked for comments on Esu’s remark, in his message of 31/1/10, that:

‘Now it is important to understand, that the world, while lovely and clean will be a harsher place to live for some time afterwards.. ." and " You are not going to live in a great deal of comfort over many, many years. "

I am not authorised to speak for Esu but in essence my understanding is that Esu was psychologically preparing readers to realise that stasis is just the beginning of our journey towards Light and Life, not its end. We are now getting the message that 80 years is very unlikely to be enough time for humanity (even though purged of all psychopaths and others with any criminal tendencies) to get itself up to scratch for the transition to Light and Life. Also, Esu's message is going out to the world at large some of whom may have only recently heard this message whereas AHSers have already been told of some of the obvious problems that will beset us. Moreover, some of the wider readership may still see stasis as just another form of transition to the "rapture" situation when clearly it is not.

For instance, looking at the local Queensland OZ coastal environment and assuming that the rise of Lemuria and/or other Earth changes do not result in any significant "sinking" of the Queensland coastline such that Buderim becomes an island and Maleny becomes a town on the seashore, it is still likely that places like Cairns, Noosa and the Sunshine Coast may experience substantial tsunamis during stasis which could make that coastline uninhabitable. Indeed, if the devastation is bad enough it might happen that Star Fleet could cleanse (vaporise) the wrecked infrastructure in some places.

Most Ozzians and a big percentage of peoples in many other countries live and have most  of their industry and infrastructure development situated in coastal and low lying regions. Arguably in many places around the world coastal devastation and permanent inundation is likely to be as bad as or worse than in Australia. For instance lowland areas in coastal China and North Western Europe might be greatly at risk of tsunamis and/or increasing sea levels. And of course earthquakes and volcanic activity well adversely affect the western coastal areas of Canada, the US and all the countries on the Pacific Rim of Fire which runs along the west coast of South America, through the New Zealand South Island and other Pacific Islands and on through the Philippines to Japan. And of course the Indonesian Archipelago will almost certainly be extensively damaged.

So even if Star Fleet somehow maintains the production of electricity and the distribution grid to areas that continue to be inhabited those areas may be crowded with refugees from other places – even if perhaps six out of seven current inhabitants have left for other destinations. Also, the provision of power supplies and basic landline telephone services may not live up to what fat and happy Australians and Westerners have become used too. And of course those who think that cell phones are actually part of their bodies will suffer withdrawal symptoms when that network won't operate at all.

However what will really crap people off will be the absence of petrol and diesel (“gas”) to power their anachronistic vehicles, farm machinery and all the rest. If carbon based fuels are still available at all one would expect that their supply will be rationed, and possibly confined to essential services possibly including some food production. That will mean that most people will have to learn to live and work within walking or (horse/bike riding distance from home unless lucky enough to have train transport close by. This will of course be a great incentive to learn to get along with neighbours and to develop local sustainable communities. In such circumstances money will cease to be sooo important. What will be `of the essence' will be your relationships with other people in your community and locale.

Those accustomed to fly off to London, New York, Paris, Sydney and Melbourne et al or even to Cairns and Canberra will find it impossible to catch ANY plane at the local airport even if they are prepared to have their bodies scanned and luggage searched by zealous erstwhile terrorist-seeking ASIO (or Homeland Security in the US) members or the equivalent in countries other than Australia and the US, all of whom will of course be out of a job with their current employers.

The lack of jet plane transport will of course be a real hardship for those used to eating delicacies from the other side of the world – or even lamb and Kiwi fruit from New Zealand. Also, Canadians used to getting their salmon shipped to China for gutting and processing before being returned to Vancouver for their dietary enjoyment will face the harsh reality that they will have to gut their own fish. It follows that most Australians may no longer be eating salmon or Barramundi at all, even if they are prepared to gut and clean them themselves.

Lack of polluting carbon based fuels will likely eliminate or greatly reduce broad acre farming for some time and will certainly destroy the possibility of having produce shipped distances like 1500 food miles from say, the Murrimbidgee Irrigation Area (or even further - from Geralton and the Ord River in WA, or California in the US) and even tomatoes from Bowen on the central Queensland coast will be a thing of the past. Ditto for Amerikkans living near the US east coast and so on. People will have to grow their own food locally. Those already in a local food growing group may not see this as such a big deal but for millions of people in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne and most large cities elsewhere, it will be a very great hardship indeed. In fact many people will starve in the early days after stasis unless Star Fleet provides manna and basic transport capabilities to enable everyone to survive until people can organise themselves into sustainable local communities that grow their own food. Fortunately Star Fleet has undertaken to provide such assistance.

In my opinion the general lack of the personal mobility we have all become used too will initially be felt as a great hardship in itself. Similarly, the sudden disappearance of the cornucopia of often shoddy, redundant or useless and even psychically and spiritually damaging material goods shipped in from China and Third World slave labour economies will also be initially experienced as a hardship by most post stasis survivors living in erstwhile advanced Western economies. Why will such goods be unavailable?  Because even if production in Third World slave economies is still possible the Earth changes during stasis will almost certainly devastate shipping and sea ports, and ocean transport infrastructure. Moreover, even if lots of sea port and shipping capacity survives and is available for use it is likely that cargo ships will not get the oil needed to sail the seas. In this connection remember that 15 huge cargo ships emit as much air pollution as all the cars in the world* so it is unlikely that such shipping will  be given priority for fuel oil supplies. *Note that there are about 90,000 cargo vessels plying the waters globally. Not all emit as much pollution as the hugest ships but if you assume the average ship is only one-tenth as bad as the giants, that still means cargo vessels on the seas emit 600 times the total pollution of the world's vehicles. What this also tells you is that the governments and others pretending that global warming is due to CO2 pollution and that motor vehicles are a serious part of the problem are neither serious nor honest since they don’t even mention this fact.

But apart from having to forgo overseas holidays and business jaunts, and cheap goods and foods from distant lands, fat and happy Australians and Westerners may also find it a hardship to have to wait in line behind the peoples of Third World countries to receive the benefits of the new technologies that will start to change our world after stasis. In all probability the OITC and others responsible for assisting humanity to acquire free energy devices, electro-gravitic transport vehicles and such, will give priority to the poorest, most economically deprived Third World peoples when initially arranging for the local manufacture and distribution of those technologies.

Finally, those not used to sharing their lives and productivity with others may at first feel it is a hardship to HAVE to relate to and share with their neighbours everyday for purposes of survival and socialisation So be it. This will be a learning experience. Moreover, whether people realise it or not, it will be a privilege to participate.
