In Esu Immanuel's time in Galilee and Judea noone was identified as a "Jew'. The local religious leaders were known as Pharisees. The Pharisees had taken over the Temple worship created by the Levites who wrote the Pentateuch long after the Israelites had left Palestine and become absorbed into the wider human family. Much of the Pentateuch was written during the Judahite Exile in Babylon and the penicious, racist and genocidal ideology it contained was written by Levite priests. That teaching, the Torah, was embellished in Babylon for about five centuries after the life of Esu Immanuel in Galilee. The core Pharisitic (so-called Judahite) ideology became known as the Talmud during this period. Around 740 AD the Kharsar Kingdom adopted the Pharasitic (Judahite) "religious" ideology. The conversion of the Kharsas was effected by large numbers of rabbis coming from the Babylon area bringing with them the Talmud teachings. It wasn't until the 18th Century that the Kharsars started calling themselves "Jews". Later, other Talmud practitioners of sephardic and other racial origins started calling themselves "Jews" also.
