Hi all, I just heard from a reader who set up a compass so it can't be disturbed and also from another who is seeing movement of North on his.
Now I understand that magnetic North and the Physical north pole are not one and the same. I have no idea if magnetic north would change, but I think it would. It has however, been floating around for years now and I used to visit a site where people posted their observations but that site is no longer up.
If any of you wish to get your compasses out and see what they do, feel free to inform me! Also those of you who follow the sky, do the same. At the stars etc, will change, even if the tilt remains the same. The tilt does not necessarily change with this process of moving the axis. There will be wobbling of the earth involved. If you spin a ball on an axis and then relocate the axis the ball will wobble as it moves to the new center of spin. If any of you can spin a ball on your fingers, you will see that.
We are still waiting on the expected shift and they think it will finally begin to manifest later today. Don't forget the issues with making Jupiter a sun, it took a year longer than hoped, because of the density but it did happen.
for any new readers that missed it, this is a video to the new Sun taken by Stereo Behind in mid March 2009. http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/pickoftheweek/old/27mar2009/ That thing called Jupiter up there is a hologram being shown from a Starship, playing a movie of Jupiter. If you look at STAR SHIP Jupiter thru a scope you will think you are thus looking at Jupiter, it revolves, the moons revolve etc. However, if you look at it thru a 10x or whatever lens on a camera, you get a nice glowing ball flashing colors.
Here a recent link of a short video to a lesser resolution of StarShip Jupiter. http://www.phoenixsourcedistributors.com/html/phoenix_project_forum.html#bn-forum-1-1-2751441816/1168/987145/show This was posted on GLP today.
