Candace, we began to cover about May 2008 that the LA basin was going into the sea in the not to far away future. The time seems to be approaching. Soltec deliniated the area as have the northern border about along the line of the faults on the north edge of LA, going on over to the San Andreas Fault line, for the eastern border. The southern border is approximately across the Baja, about where the Colorado River Delta enters the Gulf of California. This whole area has massive cracks and caverns which are building pressure under the earth changes, and melting seas pressure. It would appear on this link below the process has started. I would be getting out of there myself. A whole block of houses SUNK. Pics in the link here:

Here are the links of you don't have them to the California/Nevada quake site and to the area specifically involved.

I suggest visiting you tube, there are video's and I though I bookmarked one of them, showing seeping water, but I guess I forgot.
NOTE :Also, it has come to my attention that USGS after studying everything, determinded there were two separate large quakes that hit shortly apart, which may have caused the confusion about the size of the quake. The 7.2 hit in the Baja, the 6.6 hit in Ocotillo, California
