Dear Readers, we do not fully know how the financial collapse will manifest just yet, but PLEASE, get supplies, food, and small cash NOW, while you can. If there is a "bank holiday" you will NOT be able to swipe plastic. And retailers will run of out of small bills for change very quickly.
Start saving all your coins, (which might be more valuable than paper), and the smaller bills of your currencies. This may well be world wide.
Stock up on your necessary pet supplies and do not forget the TOILET PAPER. Have canned and dry foods. Dry beans and rice, dried pasta's etc, are quite cheap in bulk, much cheaper than canned goods. You can sprout whole grains that are still in seed form. These sprouts provide a lot of nutrition, as the sprouting seed totally changes and provides a lot more vitamins. I cook ONLY whole grains anymore as cereal and pilafs, and I always sprout them at least 24 hours before cooking. Get some nuts, these are high in calories and proteins.
If you are in risky areas, please have fresh water stored as best you can for cooking and drinking and some for washing. You CAN sponge bathe if necessary. Some cities are on electric pumped water and if the electricity is down, you may not have water. You can learn to get by on little water, the most important is for cooking and drinking. Consider where you live in your preparations. But have stocks in case the banks are down, or stores are not stocking up well. Most stores will empty in 3 days or less of important supplies and food if shipping is delayed or impossible. DO IT NOW, before there is a rush.
Candles, and the like are necessary. I have two hurricane oil lamps and oil. I also have a lantern that generates electricity by turning a lever. No batteries needed, and it also has an EXCELLENT FM radio on it. Take care, Candace
PS, if you are going to use canned goods, make sure you have a hand operated can opener!
