Brian's Poetry
having a conversation, POEM 9

having a conversation
with silence
which tie
looks best
ever notice
insects
especially ants
frenetic
but moving
with a purpose
porpoises
of the pavement
teaming with
all manner of life
how nice
they all are
do they speak
to each other
passing by
with a leaf
slice
in their mouth
do they know which
direction is south
i bet they do
look at you
too
what we must appear
to be
wonder what they
see
if they even notice
me
of course they do
you are part
of their landscape
they think
of you
as giant grapes
all plump and juicy
yes
you guessed it
lucy
on the runways
of life
we feel nice
to behold
eyes of gold
sparkles
of water
purest blend
drink from my cup
let it send
you off
to meet
your lover
as you both
seep into
one another
fluid and fruitful
motion
become love
potion
no more quotients
my toes
spent time
talking to my feet
about foes
we came to greet
on the pavement
of the street
is a corridor
to a part
a far
way out
by another car
is a jar
of clay
cracks in sidewalks
beginning to appear
into thin air
we mix concrete
leftovers
we are rovers
reporters
of angular
movements
revolutions
inclusion
solution
the truth
in the matter
is molecules
dont drool
they use a pool
for diving
under the surface
resurface
your platform
jump higher
dive in
give in
papa is
straightening his back
at the end of the board
good lord
the splash
this is
gonna make
